Not only were we treated to former vocalists Jocelyn Brown and Maysa, but also a small strings section consisting of several violins and a couple of double basses, which intensified and enriched the experience. Bluey lead the group through all of their well known songs including a couple of lesser known ones and a cover of a Banda Black Rio track - which Bluey explained are one of his many influences. Jocelyn Brown was introduced early on, as was Maysa, and they sang together on Nights Over Egypt to bring the show to a memorable climax.
During the show Bluey revealed that since the inception of the Incognito 'project' it had featured over 1500 musicians and as the night progressed we were treated to two different drummers, three bassists, two keyboard players, and various others. At the end of the show all the night's performers gathered on stage to take their bows and they just about squeezed everyone in!
It wasn't quite a full house, which was a slight shame, but I think this can be put down to the London Underground's engineering works, which made it almost impossible to get to the O2 that weekend. Although just getting to the O2 was a pain in the neck, we are certainly glad we made the effort because we are left with memories of a fantastic gig. Thanks Incognito.
By the way, Bluey revealed Incognito are currently working on a new studio album. We'll be keeping an ear out for it.
