Christmas won't arrive early, but that's okay because Mix Twenty Six has - hurrah! It's early, but in a slightly different place. For boring technical reasons, for the first week or so it will be available exclusively on mixcloud.com only, then afterwards through our player here on the website and through iTunes.
This one kicks off with an Earth, Wind & Fire track, the end few bars of which were turned into a whole new track by present day funksters, The Sunburst Band. It's a fine illustration of how modern acts get inspiration for a whole new song from a little section of an old classic. When you hear it you'll see exactly what we mean. Three newcomers this week in the shape of Hudson People, Brown Sugar and Allstars Collective - the latter featuring Jocelyn Brown, so, naturally, it kicks ass - plus a big helping of the usual greats. Crank this one up for your Christmas party and have a merry one.
