Mix Forty Three

Mix Forty Three falls on New Years Eve 2011 and so there's one or two tracks chosen especially for the occasion, which we think you'll enjoy. This mix features the return of Willie Bobo, the Isley Brothers, Bill Withers, McFadden & Whitehead and The Round Robin Monopoly for the first time, as well as Slave, Earth Wind and Fire, Vernon Burch, Kinsman Dazz band, Incognito and Prince. It's yet another milestone for VibeRide as we launch our 40th funk-filled rocket into web orbit. There's debuts for the Mary Jane Girls, Muscle Shoals Horns and Switch, along with some absolute classic funky and soulful cuts from: Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire, Jamiroquai, ADC Band, Ronnie Laws, Sunburst Band, George Duke - and Maceo Parker! Mix Thirty Eight

Mix Thirty Eight brings newcomers the Fats Gaines Band, Jaymz Bedford, Eddie Henderson, Arthur Adams and, the legendary, Marvin Gaye. There's also some super-tight funky and soulful grooves from Chocolate Milk, Vernon Burch, Earth Wind & Fire, Kleeer and Cameo. Summer's come to an end, but the funk hasn't.

Mix Thirty Six

Mix Thirty Six brings six newcomers in the shape of Vernon Burch, Tito Duarte, Billy Preston, Chocolate Milk, Martin Solveig and Felix & Jarvis. T-Connection, Earth Wind & Fire, Level 42 and Patrice Rushen complete the mix. As ever, funky & soulful to the last.

It's 'image of the month' time folks. This month it's Earth, Wind & Fire, and in particular - Maurice White. For me, this evocative black and white photograph captures the passion of this wonderful vocalist and musician very well. Just a great photo. What do you think?

Mix Thirty Three

Mix Thirty Three is out now and it signals the return of the cat in the hat, Jamiroquai. There's a couple of newcomers in the shape of Jean Knight and David Bendeth who bring some classic, and solid, funky grooves with them. This is all backed up with some heavy funk and uplifting grooves from Incognito, Slave, T-Connection, The Sunburst Band,  Banda Black Rio and the inimitable Quincy Jones. Enjoy.

Mix Twenty Six

Christmas won't arrive early, but that's okay because Mix Twenty Six has - hurrah! It's early, but in a slightly different place. For boring technical reasons, for the first week or so it will be available exclusively on mixcloud.com only, then afterwards through our player here on the website and through iTunes.

It's here, our 21st, but rather than go on a drinking-binge and end up face down in a pool of our own vomit somewhere on the outskirts of Exeter like your average 21 year old would do, we thought we'd bring you yet another hot serving of funk instead. The right choice I'm sure you'll agree.

Gigspot: Earth, Wind & Fire | London

Last week we had the enormous priviledge of seeing Earth, Wind & Fire perform live. Although I lived in hope, I never really believed I'd get to see Earth, Wind & Fire because it seemed their touring days were over. Naturally then, when I heard they were playing London I felt like a kid with a new toy.

Mix Sixteen has erupted like a volcano of funk and is billowing out funktitude all across the world wide web. Unlike a real volcano, the closer you get to this one, the better.

Mix Fourteen

Mix fourteen is out now and features a Chic track that is a masterclass in the art of funk bass, a live Commodores track and a debut for a certain group that went by the name of The O'Jays. That's accompanied by a host of feel-good tracks from the likes of Slave, Con Funk Shun, Kleer, Jamiroquai and more.

Mix Thirteen

Forgot about the number thirteen being unlucky, fortune favours the funky and so does our latest mix. This one's got something very special and ultra-rare from Earth, Wind & Fire, which with a mixture of good fortune and hard work we were able to find. It wasn't easy, but we love a good treasure hunt. The sound quality on the track isn't perfect, but you'll see that the slight compromise is well worth it.

Mix Twelve

Mix Twelve is almost literally a juggernaut of funk - and it's heading your way. It's our second show of the new decade and with it we unleash two acts not yet featured in the shape of Sister Sledge and Kleeer.

Mix Ten

Yowser! We've reached double figures with Mix Ten, which is available now via all the usual channels. Christmas is a great time to play lots of music and get down to some serious funking. 

With that in mind we decided to make this show an extended mix by including a fabulous live performance from Maceo Parker to round off the show perfectly. We hope it plays a part in your celebrations.
