Mix Thirty Seven

It's Mix Thirty Seven and we are still in funk heaven my friends! This time around sees two newcomers in the shape of the Bar Kays and Brotherhood. They are joined by Jamiroquai, George Duke, Gene Chandler, Incognito, Maceo Parker, Commodores, Pleasure and Roy Ayers, and altogether they make up one powerful injection of funk straight to the soul.

Mix Thirty Five

Mix Thirty Five is here and it brings with it five newcomers. It also signals VibeRide's 2nd anniversary! That's two years and over 350 songs without a single repeat. That's the way we do it. My, how time has flown. It's certainly been a very enjoyable year for us with our YouTube channel really taking off and our listenership ever increasing.

Mix Thirty Two

Mix Thirty Two brings back Change, Cameo and Con Funk Shun after long absences; and brings Rose Royce, The Pied Piper of Funkingham and the Modulations into the funk fold for the first time. They're backed up with super solid funk grooves from Roy Ayers, Kinsman Dazz, Fatback Band and my main man - Maceo.

Mix Thirty

It's our milestone 30th mix! As a thank you, this one's a specially extended show, which includes a tribute to Mark Adams, bassist and founder of funk outfit Slave who passed away recently, as well as a live cut from funk legend Maceo Parker.

There's also three newcomers in the shape of Jahneen, Saturday Night Band and Standing Room Only, with Rufus, Dazzle Roy Ayers and T-Connection too.

Mix Twenty Eight

Mix Twenty Eight is in orbit and will satisfy our funky cravings for most of February, which, rather appropriately, has 28 days in it. It could be said there is a kind of love or romance theme to this mix what with track names such as, "Funky Luvah," "Give Me Your Love," "Thinking Of You," and "Girl, I Think The World About You," but, curiously enough, that wasn't the intention. Anyway, I suppose it fits nicely with the February tradition of Valentines Day - if you're into pink teddy bears and the like.

Mix Twenty Seven

It's a new decade and it's our first mix of 2011. Mix Twenty Seven launches the new decade with a big chunk of tasty funk. It features newcomers 9th Creation and Ronnie Laws and solo work from the late, great Bernard Edwards. Joining them are Kinsman Dazz Band, Level 42, Fatback Band, Roy Ayers, Gwen McCrae, pleasure and the one and only Rick James. 2011 won't know what's hit it.

Mix Twenty Three

Mix Twenty Three is here and it's firing on all funk cylinders. If you haven't heard Incognito's recently released studio album, then you're in for a treat because this mix features a very hot track from it featuring Tony Momrelle on vocals. Click the album cover (left) to listen

Mix Sixteen has erupted like a volcano of funk and is billowing out funktitude all across the world wide web. Unlike a real volcano, the closer you get to this one, the better.

Mix Fifteen is here just in time for the Easter break, and so if you're planning on partying, then why not get in the groove with VibeRide's latest offering.

Mix Fourteen

Mix fourteen is out now and features a Chic track that is a masterclass in the art of funk bass, a live Commodores track and a debut for a certain group that went by the name of The O'Jays. That's accompanied by a host of feel-good tracks from the likes of Slave, Con Funk Shun, Kleer, Jamiroquai and more.

Mix Thirteen

Forgot about the number thirteen being unlucky, fortune favours the funky and so does our latest mix. This one's got something very special and ultra-rare from Earth, Wind & Fire, which with a mixture of good fortune and hard work we were able to find. It wasn't easy, but we love a good treasure hunt. The sound quality on the track isn't perfect, but you'll see that the slight compromise is well worth it.

Mix Eleven

Welcome to 2010 and welcome to VibeRide: Mix Eleven, our first show of a brand spanking new decade. Naturally we wanted to kick the decade off on the funky foot, so this show's packed with outrageously funky cuts spanning from the late sixties right up to the noughties.

Seeing as VibeRide spent New Years Eve at the Jazz Cafe in London with none other than the legendary Roy Ayers, we thought you might like to hear about it. So here goes.

Mix Ten

Yowser! We've reached double figures with Mix Ten, which is available now via all the usual channels. Christmas is a great time to play lots of music and get down to some serious funking. 

With that in mind we decided to make this show an extended mix by including a fabulous live performance from Maceo Parker to round off the show perfectly. We hope it plays a part in your celebrations.

Mix Nine

Roy Ayers is a musician, composer, producer, writer, singer. Prolific beyond his 63 years, few have impacted popular music to the degree of this musical mastermind. Growing up in a musical family in Los Angeles, he was given his first set of vibe mallets at age five by perhaps the greatest vibraphonist of all time -- Lionel Hampton -- while attending his concert.
