Google Fail, but VibeRide prevails

It's perhaps one of the greatest ironies of the Digital Age, but Google's search functionality does not work correctly or sometimes at all on countless Blogger blogs, which are, of course, provided by Google. Yes, we're being serious.

It's not an absolute or black and white issue, however, because searching does behave predictably on some blogs but not on others (there may be a correlation to those sites that have changed their template and those who haven't). Anyway, whatever the root cause, sadly, VibeRide is one of the one's in which the Google search gadget does not return correct results (trust us, we've tested it) when used from our site.

So, all this means the only way, for now at least, in which you can search VibeRide and receive correct and full results is to search from the Google homepage and use some snazzy Google syntax. All you do is type 'site:http://viberide.blogspot.com' into the search box, then leave a space and type your search term.

For example, typing 'site:http://viberide.blogspot.com Incognito' will search VibeRide for 'Incognito'

We've tried this and we're confident that this way works correctly and comprehensively.

Sounds like a hassle doesn't it? That's because it is. So we'll make it as easy as we can for you by providing a link on our front page that will take you to Google with the syntax already in place. All you'll have to do is press the space bar and type your search term. In tech speak this is known as a 'work-around'. And not a graceful one at that. We've tried, oh how we've tried, to find a better solution. But, alas, to no avail.

The broken search functionality is not a game-breaker for VibeRide by any means, as we do have our browsable label list, but we hope this peculiar situation is sorted out sooner rather than later because it makes searching for particular songs or anything that we haven't made a label rather difficult - if not impossible. Not good, but we'll keep on funkin' regardless - that's for sure!

Just wanted to mention this issue in case any of you lovely funk lovers were having difficulties or wondering why we don't have a search box. Thanks so much for your time, we'll talk to you again soon!
