Last month Jazz FM announced they would be hosting a regular saturday night event in the upstairs bar at the world-famous jazz venue, Ronnie Scott's.
This weekend VibeRide was asked to go along as guests of Jazz FM to check it out and we were, of course, very happy to do so.
Each weekend features one of several Jazz FM DJ's who take turns to host the night. Last night it was Chris Phillips and he spun a few hours of amazing jazz-funk that was right on the money and had us dancing from the moment we arrived. He was also very obliging of people's requests and, much to my enjoyment, kindly played a few of mine after I had handed him a small list! Cheers Chris.
There simply aren't many places in London where you get wonderful jazz-funk thrown at you all night and the intimacy of the upstairs bar at Ronnie Scott's added to a special atmosphere generated by a crowd who clearly knew their music.
We had an absolute blast and we'll certainly be going along regularly from now on. Well done to Jazz FM for coming up with the idea for this night, long may it continue. And kudos to Chris Phillips for giving us a top night out.
For a long time we've been yearning for a place to go in London where we can just groove the night away to some superb jazz-funk. Funky Sensation is the answer.
